Privacy Policy

Dynamic Menu Bar ("we", "our") is operated by Ah Yasin, an independent software developer based in Türkiye. This policy explains what personal data we collect through dynamicmenubar.com and how we handle it, and what the Dynamic Menu Bar app does with the permissions it asks for.
What we collect
Nothing you type. This site has no account, no newsletter and no server that receives what you enter. Its one form, the refund request, runs entirely in your browser: it puts your answers into an email, and nothing leaves your device until you send that email yourself from your own mail app.
Email you send us. When you write to us, for support or for a refund, we receive what you wrote. For a refund request that is your name, the email address you bought with, your country, your license key and your reason. We use it only to answer you and to handle the request.
Technical data. Our hosting provider processes basic technical information (such as IP address and browser type) in server logs to keep the site secure and fast.
We do not run analytics or advertising trackers, and our site does not set tracking cookies.
The app
No analytics, no telemetry, no account. The app has no usage tracking and no crash reporting, and it works without signing in to anything.
Screen Recording. Several features read your screen, which is why macOS asks for Screen Recording permission. They include live and auto-sampled color, the bar's own rounded corners when they follow its color, blur, light reflections, the music visualizer and the progress line, and the previews in Settings and in the menu bar popover. What the app captures is a thin strip at the top of your display, taller when blur or light reflections are on, and your wallpaper for the corner preview. Frames are processed in memory on your Mac. The app does not save them and does not send them anywhere.
System audio. The music visualizer listens to your Mac's audio output to draw its bars. The audio is analyzed in memory on your Mac and is never recorded or sent anywhere. The progress line reads what is playing (such as position and artwork) from macOS, on your Mac only.
Accessibility. With Accessibility permission the app reads where menus, menu bar items and windows sit on screen, what kind of element each one is, and whether a window is full screen or minimized. One feature also acts for you: when Fill Window is on, the app watches your clicks to catch one on a window's green button and, in place of macOS Full Screen, brings that window forward and chooses Fill from its Window menu. Through Accessibility the app does not read the text or the titles of your windows.
Network requests. The app makes two kinds of network request. It checks updates.dynamicmenubar.com for new versions and downloads them from there, without sending a system profile. And once you enter a license key, it talks to Polar to activate, re-validate and deactivate that key. Activation sends the key and your Mac's name, so you can recognize the seat in Polar's customer portal and release it later. Polar's answer includes the email address it holds for your license, which the app shows on its License page. Like any request, these show your IP address to the server that receives them. Links to this site, the feedback board and the checkout open in your browser.
What stays on your Mac. Your settings live in the app's preferences, along with your trial start date. License details are kept in your Keychain, including your license key, the email address Polar returned for it, a second copy of the trial start date, and your Mac's hardware UUID. The hardware UUID is used only to notice credentials copied from another Mac and is never sent. "Export Logs" in About writes a text report to a place you choose; it reads nothing from your Keychain and goes nowhere unless you send it.
Who processes your data
We use a small number of service providers:
Cloudflare, Inc. (USA) hosts and serves this website and the app's update server, updates.dynamicmenubar.com.
Polar Software Inc. (USA) acts as merchant of record for purchases. Payment details are collected and processed by Polar and never reach us. We can see each order in Polar (such as the email address you used and the license key it issued) and use that only for license support and refunds. Polar also runs the license service the app talks to, as described under "The app" above.
These providers may process data in the United States and rely on recognized safeguards such as standard contractual clauses and/or data-protection frameworks.
Retention
We keep no order records of our own; the records Polar holds are governed by Polar's privacy policy. Email you send us stays in our mailbox only as long as we need it to handle your request and to keep a record of a refund. Ask and we delete it, unless the law requires us to keep it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and Türkiye's KVKK), you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or export your personal data. To exercise any of these rights, email hello@dynamicmenubar.com — we will respond as quickly as we can.
Children
This site and the app are not directed at children under 16, and we do not knowingly collect their data.
Changes
We may update this policy as the product evolves. The date above always reflects the latest version.
