Refund Policy
Last updated: September 17, 2026
How refunds work for Dynamic Menu Bar, and the rights that apply whatever this page says.
The short version
Dynamic Menu Bar is free to try for 7 days, with every feature and no card. The trial is there so you can be sure before you pay. If you buy and the app still does not work out, you can ask for a full refund within 14 days of purchase. A person reads each request and checks it against this page; it is not automatic.
- The refund covers an app that does not work on your Mac the way this site describes it. See what the refund covers.
- A change of mind about an app that works is what the free trial is for, and is not covered. See what it does not cover.
- Duplicate and accidental purchases are always refunded.
- A license key that never reached you is a delivery failure, and we put it right.
- If the law where you live gives you a refund or withdrawal right that cannot be signed away, you keep it in full.
- Requests go through the refund request form.
Try it first
The download on this site is the whole app. Its welcome tour starts a trial of every feature that runs for 7 days, with no card, no account and nothing to cancel. Run it on the Mac you plan to buy for: that week is the time to find out whether the app suits your setup, your displays and your taste.
Dynamic Menu Bar is a one-time purchase. Payment issues a license key by email at once, for one Mac (Single Device) or three (3 Devices), with every future update included. Because all of it can be tried before paying, a refund is the safety net for what a trial cannot show you. It is not a second trial.
What the 14-day refund covers
Send the refund request form within the 14 days after the purchase date, and we refund the full amount you paid when:
- It does not work on your Mac. A feature fails, or the app crashes, slows the Mac down or drains its battery, on a Mac that meets the requirements (macOS 26 Tahoe or later, Apple silicon).
- It is not what this site describes. Something these pages say the app does, and on your Mac it does not.
- Your Mac cannot run it. You bought a license for an Intel Mac, or for a macOS older than Tahoe, where the app does not open at all.
For a technical problem we may answer with a fix or a question first. It is often a permission or a setting, and we would rather you kept an app that works. If that does not solve it within five business days, the refund is issued; you are never asked to wait longer than that.
What it does not cover
- A change of mind. “I do not need it after all”, “I thought I would use it more” or “I found another app”, about a copy that works as described. That is the question the free trial answers. We still read these requests and may grant one as a courtesy, for example when you bought without trying the app first, but this policy does not promise it.
- Requests after 14 days. The window runs from the purchase date on your Polar receipt.
- A second refund. One refund per customer. If you buy again after a refund, that purchase is final.
- Abuse. Repeated purchase-and-refund cycles, a key that has been shared or resold, or a request made after a chargeback was filed for the same purchase.
None of this limits the rights the law gives you, and none of it applies to duplicate purchases or to keys that never arrived.
Rights the law gives you
Nothing on this page removes a refund, cancellation or withdrawal right that the law where you live gives you and does not allow you to sign away. Where such a right applies, it comes before the two sections above: you do not have to give a reason, and you will not be asked to troubleshoot first.
- EU, EEA and United Kingdom. If you bought as a consumer, distance-selling law gives you 14 days from the purchase to withdraw from it without giving a reason: the Consumer Rights Directive in the EU and EEA, the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 in the UK. Where that right applies to your purchase we honor it in full, even if you have already downloaded and activated the app.
- Anywhere else. If your consumer law gives you a refund or cooling-off right that cannot be contracted away, you have it here too. Tell us where you bought from and we will apply it.
These rights go through the same form. Its last step asks which right you are using, and the request is then handled as a withdrawal, whatever else the form says.
Duplicate and accidental purchases
If you were charged twice, completed checkout twice, or chose the 3 Devices license when you meant Single Device (or the other way round), the purchase you did not mean to make is refunded. There is no case to argue. Send the form with the email address you used at checkout, and say which order is the extra one.
Keys that never arrived
Polar emails your license key right after checkout. If your payment went through and no key reached you, that is a delivery failure on our side, not a refund request: we resend the key or refund the purchase, whichever you prefer. Check your spam folder first, since license mail sometimes lands there, then use the form or write to hello@dynamicmenubar.com from the address you paid with.
How to request a refund
Refund requests go through the refund request form. It asks for the purchase email, the license key and the reason in one pass, which is what lets us find the order and answer without a back and forth. The form sends nothing by itself: its last step hands you a finished email, and the request is made when you send that email from your own mail app.
We read every request ourselves and usually reply within two business days. The reply is one of three things: the refund, a fix to try, or the reason the request falls outside this policy.
After a refund
Purchases are processed by Polar Software Inc. as merchant of record, so the refund is issued by Polar to your original payment method. Banks typically post it within 5 to 10 business days. The license key from the refunded purchase is revoked when the refund is issued, and Dynamic Menu Bar stops working on the Macs it was activated on.
Chargebacks
If something is wrong with a charge, ask us before you ask your bank. A refund through the form is faster than a chargeback, which can take weeks and keeps the license locked while the bank reviews it. A chargeback filed for a purchase that was delivered and never raised with us may lead to the license being revoked and to future orders being declined.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy. The version published on the day you bought is the one that governs that purchase; the date above reflects the latest version.
